Surprising Results of this gardening experiment will be shown\nat the end of the video. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any gardener or farmer desires for faster, better and bigger plants with higher yields. The information gained from this experiment, may be used to help gardeners achieve a great success in gardening and farming. In our previous episode we investigated the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gkvks.com\/what-happens-when-electric-current-is-passed-into-plants-electro-culture-experiments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"effect of electricity on plant growth (opens in a new tab)\">effect of electricity on plant growth<\/a><\/strong> and seed germination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this experiment we will investigate the effect\nof magnetism on seed germination and plant growth and evaluate the results on\nDay 4, Day 6, Day 8 and so on. &nbsp;Even this\nexperiment can be a very good school project for kids.<br>\n<br>\nNow, Lets start with hypothesis which states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cSeeds germinate faster and plant grow faster\nand stronger in the presence of magnetic field in the soil.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MATERIALS\n&amp; METHODS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; 3 plastic Containers<br>\n&#8211; Strong Magnets<br>\n&#8211; Identical Potting Mix for all 3 containers<br>\n&#8211; 3 Identical Seeds <br>\n&#8211; A Ruler or a Measuring Tape.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;The constants\nin this study are:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The Potting Mix<\/li><li>The Water plant\nreceives<\/li><li>The Location \/\nLight the Plant receives<\/li><li>The Seeds.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Label the 3 Containers as A, B, and C. Pot C will be the Control for the\nexperiment.<\/li><li>Fill the 3 containers with the identical potting mix.<\/li><li>In pot A place a permanent magnet in the center with the magnetic field\nis narrow and stronger.<\/li><li>In Pot B, insert multiple bar magnets around the container preferably\nwith the same polarity facing the plant, so as to create uniform magnetic field.\nYou can determine the Polarity of the Magnets using a Compass needle if you\nhave one.<\/li><li>Plant 3 identical seeds into all three containers. Pot A will receive\nthe strongest magnetic field.<\/li><li>Water all the 3 containers with the same amount of water.<\/li><li>Place the 3 containers at the same location \u2013 like on a window sil. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Day 4. You can\nclearly see the Seed in Container A which received the highest magnetic field\nhas germinated and there are no signs of sprouting in B and C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Day 5. The Seed\nin Pot B with a weaker magnetic field also has germinated. No result yet in pot\nC. Pot A there is further growth and a nice little shoot has begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Day 6.\nGermination has begun in the Control Pot too without any magnetic field. The\nPots A and B show more growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Day 8. &nbsp;This hypothesis is getting proved. Plant in\nPot A is the tallest, Next come Pot B and lastly Pot C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Conclusion: The results of the experiment clearly prove that magnetic field has a strong effect on the rate of seed germination and plant growth.
